Preparation
- In a medium bowl, mix together cream cheese, mayonnaise, cheddar, mozzarella, garlic powder, and seasoned salt.
- Divide the mixture evenly onto six pieces of Italian bread.
- Top with another slice of bread to create six sandwiches.
- Generously butter the outside of each sandwich.
Cooking
- Heat a skillet over medium heat and toast the sandwiches for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until the bread is browned and the cheese is melted.
- Cover the skillet with a lid for half the cooking time to help melt the cheese thoroughly.
Serving
- Once cooked, slice the sandwiches in half and serve immediately.
Notes
For an extra crispy sandwich, use room temperature cream cheese, spread butter evenly, and keep the heat at medium. Let the sandwiches rest for a minute before slicing to help the cheese set slightly.
