Preparation
- Whisk all the marinade and dressing ingredients into a bowl.
- Place the steak into a shallow dish and pour 1/3 of the prepared marinade and dressing over it.
- Gently massage the steak to ensure even distribution of the marinade on all sides.
- Allow the steak to sit for 15 minutes to reach room temperature.
- While the steak marinates, prepare the chopped vegetables for the salad.
Cooking
- Brush the grill or a heavy-bottom pan with oil and preheat over medium-high heat.
- Cook the steak on both sides for about 5 minutes in total for medium-rare.
- Remove the steak from the grill or pan and allow it to rest for a few minutes.
- Slice the steak into 1/2-inch thick pieces, slicing against the grain.
Assembly
- Combine the tomatoes, onion, and lettuce in a large salad bowl.
- Add the sliced steak and pour the remaining dressing over the top.
- Garnish with crumbled blue cheese and toss well before serving.
Notes
Allow your steak to rest before cutting to retain its juices. Consider using feta or cotija cheese for a different flavor. Customize with additional vegetables or dressings.
