Ingredients
  

For the Alfredo sauce
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter Creates a rich base for the sauce.
  • 1 cup heavy cream Provides creamy texture.

  • 1 teaspoon fresh nutmeg Adds a warm, aromatic hint.

For the steak and pasta
  • 8 ounces fettuccine pasta The perfect vehicle for the creamy sauce.
  • 1 pound steak Any quality cut such as Sirloin, Filet, or Ribeye.
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil For searing the steak.
  • 1 teaspoon Kosher salt Enhances the overall seasoning of the steak.
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter For basting the steak while cooking.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a saucepan, heat the butter and cream over medium heat until it begins to bubble.
  2. Lower the heat and let it simmer for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  3. Remove from heat and stir in Parmesan, salt, pepper, nutmeg, and parsley. Set aside to thicken.
Cooking the Steak
  1. For Filet, preheat the oven to 400°F.
  2. Season steaks with salt and pepper on both sides.
  3. In a cast iron skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat.
  4. Add the steaks once the oil is hot and sear for 2-3 minutes.
  5. Flip the steaks, add butter, and baste for another 3 minutes, then check the internal temperature.
  6. Transfer the steaks to the oven for 3-5 minutes depending on your desired doneness.
  7. Remove from the oven, transfer to a cutting board, and let rest for a few minutes before slicing.
Serving
  1. Cook the fettuccine according to package directions, then drain.
  2. Toss the cooked pasta in the Alfredo sauce until fully coated.
  3. Divide the pasta between plates, top with sliced steak, and garnish with parsley, cheese, and black pepper. Enjoy!

Notes

Use fresh ingredients, especially cheese, for better flavor and texture. Let your steak come to room temperature before cooking for a more even cook.
