Method
 

Preparation
  1. Heat sesame oil in a large skillet over high heat.
  2. Add chicken pieces and cook until browned.
  3. Transfer seared chicken thighs into the slow cooker.
Cooking
  1. Layer remaining ingredients over the chicken in the crockpot.
  2. Secure the lid and cook on LOW for 7 to 8 hours or HIGH for 3 to 4 hours.
  3. In the last 30 minutes, combine cornstarch with orange juice until dissolved.
  4. Stir the slurry into the slow cooker and continue cooking for an additional 30 minutes.
Serving
  1. Serve warm with a side of white rice and vegetables.

Notes

For best results, sear the chicken before placing it in the slow cooker for added depth of flavor. Adjust sweetness with brown sugar to taste.
