Method

Preparation
  1. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, chopped onion, minced garlic, and breadcrumbs. Season with salt and pepper.
  2. Shape the mixture into oval-shaped patties, about 1 inch thick.
Cooking
  1. Heat a skillet over medium heat and add a drizzle of oil. Cook the patties for 4-5 minutes on each side until browned. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  2. In the same skillet, add sliced mushrooms and cook until they are golden brown.
  3. Stir in beef broth and Worcestershire sauce, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom. Bring to a simmer.
  4. Return the patties to the skillet, spooning the gravy over them, and simmer for an additional 10 minutes.
  5. Plate the patties and spoon the mushroom gravy over the top. Enjoy warm!

Notes

Refrigerate the beef mixture for 30 minutes before forming patties for better cohesion. Consider using pre-sliced mushrooms to cut down on prep time. Adjust seasoning with herbs or spices for added flavor.
