Preparation
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, chopped onion, minced garlic, and breadcrumbs. Season with salt and pepper.
- Shape the mixture into oval-shaped patties, about 1 inch thick.
Cooking
- Heat a skillet over medium heat and add a drizzle of oil. Cook the patties for 4-5 minutes on each side until browned. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add sliced mushrooms and cook until they are golden brown.
- Stir in beef broth and Worcestershire sauce, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom. Bring to a simmer.
- Return the patties to the skillet, spooning the gravy over them, and simmer for an additional 10 minutes.
- Plate the patties and spoon the mushroom gravy over the top. Enjoy warm!
Notes
Refrigerate the beef mixture for 30 minutes before forming patties for better cohesion. Consider using pre-sliced mushrooms to cut down on prep time. Adjust seasoning with herbs or spices for added flavor.
