Ingredients

Dry Ingredients
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour Provides structure and chewiness to the crust
  • 1 packet instant yeast Activates the dough and helps it rise
  • 1 tbsp granulated sugar Adds a touch of sweetness and helps yeast activation
  • 1 tbsp sea salt Enhances flavor and balances the dough
  • 1 tsp garlic powder Offers depth to flavors (omit for sweet pizza)
Wet Ingredients
  • 1 cup warm water Hydrates the flour and activates yeast without cooking it
  • 2 tbsp olive oil Adds moisture and richness to the dough

Method

Preparation
  1. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, yeast, garlic powder, and salt.
  2. Create a well in the center of the flour mixture, then pour in the warm water and olive oil.
  3. Stir with a spatula until the ingredients are just incorporated and the dough looks shaggy.
  4. Transfer the mixture to a floured surface and knead for 8-10 minutes, adding flour as necessary until smooth.
Rising
  1. Lightly grease the dough ball and place it back in the bowl. Cover and let rise in a warm area for at least 1 hour or until doubled in size.
Shaping
  1. Once risen, punch down the dough, fold it, and divide into two balls for two pizzas.
  2. Roll out on a floured surface to a circular shape, about 10 inches in diameter, creating a heightened rim for the crust.
Ready to Use
  1. The dough is now ready for your favorite pizza toppings. Enjoy!
