Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until well blended.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Sift in the cocoa powder and flour, mixing until just combined.
- Fold in half of the pecans into the brownie batter.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
Baking
- In a separate bowl, mix the remaining pecans with a bit of brown sugar and sprinkle them over the brownie batter.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out mostly clean.
- Allow to cool before slicing into squares.
Notes
Use room temperature ingredients for better mixing. For an extra boost, add a splash of vanilla extract.
