Main ingredients
  • 1 cup unsalted butter Provides richness and moisture, ensuring a fudgy texture.
  • 4 oz unsweetened chocolate Adds a deep, intense chocolate flavor that balances sweetness.
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder Enhances the chocolate taste and contributes to the brownie’s richness.
  • 1 cup granulated sugar Sweetens the mixture while helping create a tender crumb.
  • 2 large eggs Bind the ingredients together and contribute to the brownies' structure.
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract Adds warmth and depth to the overall flavor profile.
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour Provides the structure needed for the brownies to hold together.
  • 1/4 tsp salt Enhances flavor and balances sweetness.
  • 1 cup peanut butter chips Introduces creamy bursts of peanut butter flavor throughout the brownies.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease or line a 9-inch square baking pan with parchment paper.
Mixing
  1. In a large microwave-safe bowl, combine the butter and chopped chocolate. Heat in the microwave at half power in 30-second increments until melted.
  2. Allow the melted mixture to cool slightly.
  3. Whisk in the cocoa powder, granulated sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until fully combined.
  4. Add the flour and salt; whisk until the batter is smooth and all ingredients are well incorporated.
  5. Gently fold in the peanut butter chips.
Baking
  1. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread it out evenly.
  2. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes, or until the edges are set and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
Cooling
  1. Allow the brownies to cool in the pan on a wire rack before cutting into squares.

Notes

To create the best brownies, let the melted butter and chocolate cool slightly before adding eggs. Avoid over-mixing the batter after adding flour to ensure soft brownies.
