Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Slice the onions into ½-inch thick rings and separate them.
  3. Set up your breading station: Place flour in one bowl, egg whites in a second, and a mix of breadcrumbs and seasonings in a third.
Breading
  1. Dredge each onion ring in flour, dip in egg whites, then coat in the breadcrumb mixture.
Baking
  1. Place the coated onion rings on the prepared baking sheet and spray lightly with olive oil.
  2. Bake for 15 minutes, flip each ring, then bake for an additional 10-15 minutes or until golden and crispy.
  3. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

For a flavor boost, marinate onion rings in buttermilk for an hour before coating. To store, keep in an airtight container for up to 3 days in the fridge, or freeze uncooked for up to 2 months.
