Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Slice the onions into thick rings, separating them carefully.
  3. Prepare three shallow bowls: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with a mix of breadcrumbs and Parmesan cheese along with your chosen spices.
Coating and Baking
  1. Dredge each onion ring in the flour, shaking off excess.
  2. Dip the ring into the egg mixture, coating evenly.
  3. Finally, press the egg-coated onion into the breadcrumb mixture, ensuring a good layer of coating.
  4. Place the coated rings on a parchment-lined baking sheet, making sure they are not touching.
  5. Bake for 15-20 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.

Notes

For best results, use a sharper knife when cutting onions for cleaner rings; keep enough space between the rings on the baking sheet to avoid steaming. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
