Cooking Steps
- Brown the beef. Add ground beef in a large nonstick pot over medium-high heat and cook until no longer pink.
- Drain excess fat. Drain half the fat to reduce greasiness.
- Add vegetables. Incorporate onion, garlic, and peppers, cooking for about 5 minutes until onions are tender and garlic is fragrant.
- Mix in liquids. Add water, broth, tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, bay leaves, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, and paprika.
- Bring to a boil. Mix ingredients thoroughly and bring to a boil.
- Simmer. Reduce heat to low, cover with a lid, and simmer for 15 minutes.
- Add macaroni. Stir in uncooked macaroni, cover again, and cook until pasta is al dente, mixing often. This takes about 15-20 minutes.
- Finish the dish. Turn off heat and mix in cheese, if desired.
- Garnish and serve. Discard bay leaves, garnish with fresh parsley, and enjoy!
Notes
Enhance flavor by using fresh garlic and sautéing it longer for a more robust base. Consider topping with additional cheese or fresh herbs for a gourmet touch.
