Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C or 170°C fan forced).
  2. Line an 8-inch square baking pan with aluminum foil or baking paper, leaving an overhang, or lightly grease the pan.
  3. In a large bowl, melt the chopped chocolate and butter together using a microwave on medium power or a double boiler until smooth.
  4. Stir in the white sugar and brown sugar until well combined.
  5. Whisk in the eggs and vanilla extract until the mixture is smooth and lump-free.
  6. Gently fold in the flour, cocoa powder, and salt until just combined.
  7. Incorporate the milk chocolate chips into the batter for extra sweetness and texture.
  8. Transfer the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
Baking
  1. Place in the oven and bake for 22-27 minutes, or until the top appears set and a toothpick inserted comes out with a few damp crumbs.
Cooling
  1. Allow the brownies to cool in the pan for about 3 hours before lifting them out and slicing into squares.
