  • 1 medium grated zucchini Squeeze out moisture before mixing.
  • 1 pound lean ground turkey Helps keep burgers juicy.
  • 1/2 cup seasoned whole wheat or gluten free breadcrumbs Binds the mixture.
  • 2 cloves garlic Minced for flavor.
  • 1/4 medium red onion Chopped for sweetness.
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt Enhances flavor.
  • 1/2 teaspoon fresh pepper Adds gentle heat.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Squeeze the zucchini to remove all moisture using paper towels.
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground turkey, zucchini, breadcrumbs, garlic, onion, salt, and pepper.
  3. Form 5 equal patties, each approximately 4 ounces and not too thick.
Cooking
  1. Heat a large nonstick skillet on high heat and spray lightly with oil.
  2. Add burgers to the skillet, reduce heat to low, and cook on one side until browned, then flip.
  3. Flip burgers a few times to prevent burning and ensure they are cooked through.
  4. Clean grill well, spray with oil, and cook burgers on medium heat for about 5 minutes on each side or until no longer pink in the center.
  5. Alternatively, preheat air fryer to 370°F and cook in a single layer in two batches for 10 minutes, turning halfway.
Serving
  1. Serve the burgers with your favorite toppings such as avocado, Greek yogurt, or pickles.

Notes

Store uncooked patties in the fridge for up to 2 days or freeze for up to 3 months. Cooked leftovers can be stored in the fridge for 3-4 days.
