Dumpling Ingredients

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a large pot, heat some oil over medium heat. Add diced chicken breasts and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Remove the chicken and set aside.
  2. In the same pot, add diced onions, carrots, and celery. Sauté for 4-5 minutes until softened. Add minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.
  3. Return the chicken to the pot. Pour in chicken broth and heavy cream. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Bring to a gentle simmer.
Cooking Dumplings
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt. Stir in melted butter and milk until just combined.
  2. Drop spoonfuls of the dumpling mixture into the simmering broth. Cover the pot and cook for 12-15 minutes until the dumplings are fluffy and cooked through.
Serving
  1. Gently stir the chicken and dumplings together. Adjust seasoning and serve hot.

Notes

Store leftovers in airtight containers in the refrigerator for 3-4 days or freeze in single servings for up to 3 months. Reheat gently on the stovetop.
