Preparation
- Using a serrated knife, cut the tomatoes into 1/4 inch thick slices. Arrange them elegantly on a large serving platter, overlapping their edges. Vary the shapes for a visual feast.
- Cut the burrata or mozzarella into 1/4 inch to 1/2 inch slices. Disperse these creamy slices around and underneath the tomatoes.
- Sprinkle the fresh basil leaves all over the assembled tomatoes and cheese.
- Generously drizzle the extra-virgin olive oil over the salad.
- Finish by sprinkling generously with flaky sea salt and freshly ground black pepper.
- Allow the salad to rest for 30 minutes before serving to help meld the flavors.
Notes
Serve as a side dish or light main. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator and enjoy within a day for optimal freshness. Freezing is not recommended.
