Method
 

Preparation
  1. Heat the olive oil in a Dutch oven over medium heat. Sauté the onion for 3-4 minutes.
Cooking
  1. Add the ground turkey and cook, breaking the meat with a wooden spoon, until no longer pink.
  2. Stir in the minced garlic and seasonings (chili powder, ground cumin, dried oregano, dried thyme, salt, and pepper).
  3. Add the chicken or beef broth, crushed tomatoes, and black beans. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for 30 minutes.
Serving
  1. Add optional toppings such as sour cream, jalapeño, shredded cheese, lime wedges, and cilantro, and enjoy!

Notes

For the best flavor, sauté onions until golden brown. Adjust seasoning to your taste before serving.
