Ingredients
  

Avocado Base
  • 2 pieces ripe avocados Provide the creamy base for the guacamole.
  • 1 medium medium red onion Adds a sweet crunch and beautiful color.
Grilling Ingredients
  • 1 tbsp canola or vegetable oil Used to brush the avocados and onion before grilling.
  • 1 piece jalapeno Offers heat and spice, enhancing flavor.
Flavoring Ingredients
  • 2 tbsp lime juice Provides acidity that balances the richness.
  • 1 clove garlic Adds aromatic depth to the guacamole.
  • 1 tsp salt Enhances all the ingredients’ flavors.
  • 1 tsp chipotle powder Introduces a smokiness that complements grilling.
Optional Ingredients
  • 1 medium Roma tomato Optional for added fresh texture and flavor.
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro Optional garnish to add freshness and color.
Serving Suggestion

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the grill to medium-high.
  2. Brush both tops and bottoms of halved avocados and halved onion with canola oil.
Cooking
  1. Place the avocados and onion cut-side down on the grill.
  2. Grill for 4-5 minutes.
  3. Flip and grill for 4-5 more minutes, or until both have grill marks.
  4. Remove the avocados and onion from the grill and let cool slightly.
Serving
  1. Once cool, dice the onion.
  2. In a large bowl, roughly smash avocados and add all remaining ingredients (diced onion, jalapeno, lime juice, garlic, salt, chipotle powder, tomatoes, and cilantro); stir until well combined.

Notes

For added richness, use very ripe avocados. Add a clove of roasted garlic for extra depth. Chill your serving bowl for a refreshing touch.
