Preparation
- Soak the skewers. If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for 30 minutes to prevent burning.
- Preheat the grill. Heat the grill or grill pan to medium-high and lightly grease it to prevent sticking.
- Season the shrimp. In a large bowl, combine the shrimp with 3 tablespoons of BBQ sauce, olive oil, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Toss to coat thoroughly.
- Thread the shrimp. Slide 5 to 6 shrimp onto each skewer, ensuring they are securely placed.
Grilling
- Cook the shrimp for 2 minutes on one side without moving them.
- Turn the shrimp over and brush with additional BBQ sauce.
- Cook for another 2 to 3 minutes until the shrimp turn opaque pink and curl into a loose 'C'.
Serving
- Serve the grilled skewers immediately for the best flavor and texture.
Notes
For best results, marinate the shrimp for at least 30 minutes. Monitor cooking time closely to avoid overcooking; shrimp cook quickly. Experiment with different BBQ sauces for varied flavors.
