Ingredients
  

For the Skewers
  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 3 tablespoons BBQ sauce Reserve some for brushing during grilling.
  • 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil Provides moisture.
  • 1 teaspoon paprika Enhances flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt To taste.
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper Adds warmth and spice.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Soak the skewers. If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for 30 minutes before you start.
  2. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat and lightly grease it.
  3. In a large bowl, combine the shrimp, 3 tablespoons of BBQ sauce, olive oil, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Toss to coat and set aside some sauce for brushing later.
Cooking
  1. Thread 5 to 6 shrimp onto each skewer.
  2. Cook the shrimp for 2 minutes on one side before flipping.
  3. After flipping, brush the shrimp with more BBQ sauce.
  4. Grill the second side for 2 to 3 minutes, until the shrimp turn opaque pink and curl into a loose C shape.
  5. Brush both sides with the remaining BBQ sauce before serving.
Serving
  1. Serve immediately and enjoy the shrimp hot off the grill.

Notes

For deeper flavor, marinate the shrimp for at least 30 minutes. Skip soaking for metal skewers. Serve with coleslaw or grilled corn for a summer feast.
