  • 1 teaspoon salt Essential for enhancing all the flavors in the marinade.
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper Adds a mild heat that rounds out the taste.
  • 1/4 cup freshly chopped cilantro or parsley Provides a fresh, herbal note.
Main Ingredient
  • 4 pieces skinless chicken breasts The main protein source, ideal for marinating.

Method

Preparation
  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the yogurt, lemon juice, lemon zest, garlic, paprika, cumin, onion powder, salt, pepper, and cilantro.
  2. Pat the chicken breasts dry with a paper towel to remove excess moisture.
  3. Place chicken into a gallon-size resealable bag and pour the yogurt marinade over it.
  4. Carefully seal the bag while pressing out any excess air.
  5. Rub the chicken breasts with the yogurt marinade to coat them well.
  6. Let the chicken marinate for at least 45 minutes or up to 24 hours.
Cooking
  1. For outdoor grilling, heat the grill to 425°F.
  2. Clean the grill grates and lightly grease them.
  3. Grill for about 5-7 minutes per side until cooked through, reaching an internal temperature of 165°F.
  4. For indoor grill pan cooking, heat the grill pan to medium-high heat and lightly grease. Add chicken and grill for similar timing until fully cooked.
  5. For oven baking, preheat the oven to 425°F, place the chicken on a baking sheet, and bake for 20-25 minutes until cooked through.
  6. For air frying, preheat air fryer to 370°F, lightly grease the basket, and air fry for 7-9 minutes per side.
  7. Allow the chicken to rest for 5 minutes before slicing or serving for extra juiciness. Enjoy!

Notes

For a stronger flavor, marinate chicken overnight. Experiment with different herbs, such as dill or oregano. Make sure to preheat your grill or air fryer for optimal cooking. Serve with a yogurt sauce for an added layer of flavor.
