Preparation
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the yogurt, lemon juice, lemon zest, garlic, paprika, cumin, onion powder, salt, pepper, and cilantro.
- Pat the chicken breasts dry with a paper towel to remove excess moisture.
- Place chicken into a gallon-size resealable bag and pour the yogurt marinade over it.
- Carefully seal the bag while pressing out any excess air.
- Rub the chicken breasts with the yogurt marinade to coat them well.
- Let the chicken marinate for at least 45 minutes or up to 24 hours.
Cooking
- For outdoor grilling, heat the grill to 425°F.
- Clean the grill grates and lightly grease them.
- Grill for about 5-7 minutes per side until cooked through, reaching an internal temperature of 165°F.
- For indoor grill pan cooking, heat the grill pan to medium-high heat and lightly grease. Add chicken and grill for similar timing until fully cooked.
- For oven baking, preheat the oven to 425°F, place the chicken on a baking sheet, and bake for 20-25 minutes until cooked through.
- For air frying, preheat air fryer to 370°F, lightly grease the basket, and air fry for 7-9 minutes per side.
- Allow the chicken to rest for 5 minutes before slicing or serving for extra juiciness. Enjoy!
Notes
For a stronger flavor, marinate chicken overnight. Experiment with different herbs, such as dill or oregano. Make sure to preheat your grill or air fryer for optimal cooking. Serve with a yogurt sauce for an added layer of flavor.
