Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F to prepare for baking.
- Line two baking sheets with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
- Rinse and scrub the russet potatoes until clean to remove dirt.
- Cut the potatoes into 0.5-inch thick fries for even cooking.
- Place the cut fries in a bowl and cover with cold water, soaking for at least 10 minutes.
- After soaking, drain the water and pat the fries dry with a towel to remove excess moisture.
Cooking
- Add fries to a bowl and drizzle with oil, using clean hands to coat them evenly.
- Sprinkle with your chosen seasoning, garlic granules, onion granules, salt, black pepper, chili powder, and chipotle powder, mixing well.
- Spread the seasoned fries in a single layer across both baking sheets.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 35 to 45 minutes, tossing halfway through, until golden and crispy.
Serving
- Fries should be golden brown and crispy when done.
Notes
For extra crunch, soak the fries for longer than 10 minutes. Experiment with favorite seasonings for unique flavors. Avoid overcrowding the baking sheets.
