  • 8 oz Mushrooms Use shiitake, cremini, or any preferred mushrooms.
  • 1 cup Heavy cream For a lighter version, use half and half.
  • 3 cloves Garlic Chopped finely for better flavor infusion.
  • 1 medium Onion Chopped.
  • 1 cup Vegetable broth Ensure it is gluten-free if needed.
  • 2 tbsp Butter For richness.
  • 1 tsp Thyme Fresh or dried thyme can be used.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat.
  2. Add chopped onions and garlic; sauté until translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
  3. Add sliced mushrooms and cook until they release their moisture and become golden, approximately 6-8 minutes.
  4. Pour in vegetable broth and bring to a simmer, cooking for another 2-3 minutes.
  5. Stir in heavy cream and thyme, allowing the sauce to simmer until thickened, around 5-7 minutes.
  6. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve hot.

Notes

For extra flavor, try using a mix of different mushrooms. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days, or freeze for longer storage.
