Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 2 large large ripe avocados, halved and pitted The base for your creamy texture; ripe avocados provide healthy fats.
  • 1/2 cup lightly packed fresh cilantro Adds freshness and flavor; can substitute with parsley if preferred.
  • 1/3 cup lime juice Essential for brightness; fresh lime is preferred for best results.
  • 1 small jalapeño, seeds and ribs removed, roughly chopped Offers a manageable spicy kick; adjust to taste.
  • 2 tablespoons water, more as needed Helps achieve desired consistency for the dip.
  • 1/2 teaspoon fine sea salt Necessary for flavor enhancement; adjust to your liking.

Method

Preparation
  1. Scoop the flesh of the avocados into a food processor or blender.
  2. Add the chopped cilantro, lime juice, jalapeño, water, and salt into the processor.
  3. Process, stopping to scrape down the sides as necessary, until the mixture is smooth and creamy. This should take about 30-60 seconds.
  4. If the mixture is too thick to blend properly, add additional water in 1 tablespoon increments.
  5. Taste your dip and add more salt if it needs extra flavor.
  6. Transfer the avocado sauce to a small serving bowl.

Notes

Serve with fresh vegetables, tortilla chips, or as a topping for grilled chicken or fish. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator and consume within four days. For an extra kick, consider adding hot sauce or cayenne pepper.
