Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F and line a 9x5 loaf pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, using a handheld electric mixer, beat the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
  3. Incorporate the orange zest, eggs, half and half, and vanilla; beat until combined and smooth.
  4. Gradually mix in the flour, baking powder, and salt until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
  5. Pour half of the batter into the prepared pan and tap it to spread evenly, then scatter half of the cranberries on top.
  6. Repeat with the remaining batter and cranberries, ensuring even distribution.
Baking

  2. Allow the loaf to cool in the pan for at least one hour before removing and cooling completely on a wire rack.
Glazing
  1. To prepare the glaze, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and orange juice, then pour over the cooled loaf when set.
  2. Alternatively, dust with powdered sugar for a simpler presentation.
Serving
  1. Slice the bread and serve. It can be enjoyed warm with butter or as a sweet dessert with glaze.

Notes

Consider using fresh cranberries for a better flavor. You may also experiment by adding nuts or chocolate chips, if desired. Allow bread to cool completely before slicing for the best texture.
