Ingredients
  

Dough Ingredients
  • 1 cup whole milk Adds creaminess and creates a smooth texture.
  • 2 tablespoons Active Dry Yeast Helps the dough rise and provides a light texture.
  • 1/4 cup honey Adds a hint of sweetness and moisture to the rolls.
  • 4 tablespoons melted butter Provides richness and flavor to the dough.
  • 1 large egg Binds the ingredients together and adds richness.
  • 1 teaspoon salt Enhances flavor and strengthens the dough.
  • 3-4 cups all purpose or bread flour Forms the structure and texture of the rolls.
For Butter Topping
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter For brushing on top of the rolls.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Heat the milk to a near boil, then let it cool to lukewarm (80-90°F).
  2. In a small bowl, mix the milk, yeast, and honey. Let sit for 5 minutes.
  3. In a large bowl, mix 3 tablespoons of melted butter, the milk mixture, the egg, salt, and half of the flour until smooth. Gradually add remaining flour until a dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough for 8 minutes, then transfer it to a floured surface and knead for a few more minutes.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with plastic wrap, and let rise for 1 hour in a warm place.
Cooking
  1. Punch down the dough and roll it out on a floured surface to 1/2 inch thick. Fold in half and seal gently.
  2. Cut the dough into 24 even squares and place on two greased baking sheets. Cover and let rise for 30-40 minutes until doubled in size.
  3. Preheat the oven to 350°F and bake for 12-15 minutes until light golden brown.
  4. Brush the top of the rolls with the remaining melted butter before serving.

Notes

For the best results, do not over-knead the dough. Allow rolls to rise in a warm, draft-free area and brush with extra melted butter before serving.
