Preparation
- Cut the chicken breast into bite-sized pieces.
- In a bowl, combine chicken, soy sauce, ginger, and garlic. Let marinate for 20 minutes.
- In one bowl, beat the egg. In another bowl, add flour. Dip each chicken piece in egg, then coat with flour.
Cooking
- Heat oil in a pan over medium-high heat.
- Fry the chicken pieces until golden brown and crispy, about 4-5 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels.
- In a saucepan, combine orange juice, honey, soy sauce, and orange zest. Cook over medium heat until thickened slightly.
- Add the fried chicken to the sauce and toss to coat evenly. Cook for an additional 2 minutes.
- Plate the orange chicken and garnish with green onions or sesame seeds if desired.
Notes
For extra crispiness, double fry the chicken. Substitute orange juice with mandarin juice for a sweeter flavor. Serve with steamed rice for a complete meal.
