Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a large skillet, add 1 tablespoon olive oil and ½ cup diced onion.
  2. Cook for 3 minutes, until tender.
  3. Add 1 pound lean ground beef. Crumble and cook until browned, about 7 minutes.
  4. Incorporate 2 teaspoons minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds.
  5. Season with 1 teaspoon Kosher salt and ½ teaspoon pepper.
Cooking
  1. Add 2 cups beef broth, 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce, ⅓ cup ketchup, and 1 cup long-grain white rice and stir to combine.
  2. Bring the rice mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to medium-low.
  3. Cover with a lid and simmer until the liquid is absorbed and the rice is tender, about 15-20 minutes.
Serving
  1. Stir 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese into the rice mixture. Heat until the cheese melts.

Notes
