Preparation
  1. Step 1: Heat the Dutch oven on medium-low heat.
  2. Step 2: Add olive oil, diced onion, kosher salt, and ground black pepper.
  3. Step 3: Sauté the onion until brown and soft, about 10 minutes.
Cooking
  1. Step 4: Increase heat to medium-high and add lean ground beef. Break into small pieces and stir until browned, about 6 minutes.
  2. Step 5: Drain excess fat but leave a little for moisture.
