  • 1.5 cups Freshly shredded cheddar cheese Rich, cheesy flavor.
  • 1 cup Whole milk Adds moisture to the dough.
  • 1 large Egg Binds ingredients together.
  • 4 tbsp Unsalted butter Contributes flavor and moisture.
Flavor Enhancers
  • 1 tbsp Dried parsley Introduces a mild herbal note.
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder Adds savory depth.
  • 1 tsp Onion powder Brings subtle sweetness.
  • 0.5 tsp Fine sea salt (for topping) Enhances flavors in the topping.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Line a 9x5 loaf pan with parchment paper and spray it with nonstick spray.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  4. Stir in the freshly shredded cheddar cheese, ensuring it is well coated with the dry mixture.
  5. In a small bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, and melted butter.
  6. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  7. Pour the mixture into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
Baking
  1. Place the loaf pan in the oven and bake for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, parsley, garlic powder, onion powder, and salt for the topping.
  3. Brush the topping over the warm bread as soon as it comes out of the oven.
  4. Let the bread cool for 5 minutes in the pan before removing it to cool further.
  5. Slice and enjoy!

Notes

Feel free to customize with different herbs, or cheese types. Make sure to use freshly shredded cheese for best results.
