Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F.
- Line a 9x5 loaf pan with parchment paper and spray it with nonstick spray.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Stir in the freshly shredded cheddar cheese, ensuring it is well coated with the dry mixture.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, and melted butter.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
- Pour the mixture into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
Baking
- Place the loaf pan in the oven and bake for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, parsley, garlic powder, onion powder, and salt for the topping.
- Brush the topping over the warm bread as soon as it comes out of the oven.
- Let the bread cool for 5 minutes in the pan before removing it to cool further.
- Slice and enjoy!
