Ingredients

Base Ingredients
  • 1 cup Unsalted Butter Softened to room temperature
  • 4 cups Powdered Sugar Sifted for a smoother texture
  • 2 teaspoons Vanilla Extract Helps enhance flavor
  • 2-4 tablespoons Milk or Heavy Cream Adjust amount for desired consistency
  • 1 pinch Salt Balances sweetness

Method

Preparation
  1. Softly the unsalted butter to room temperature in a large mixing bowl.
  2. Using a hand mixer or stand mixer, beat the butter on medium speed until creamy, about 2-3 minutes.
  3. Gradually add the powdered sugar, mixing on low speed to prevent a sugar cloud.
  4. Once combined, increase the speed and mix until fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
  5. Add the vanilla extract and a pinch of salt, then mix to combine.
  6. If the frosting is too thick, add milk or heavy cream, one tablespoon at a time, until the desired consistency is reached.
  7. Continue to mix for an additional 1-2 minutes until fluffy and smooth.

Notes

Use room temperature butter for easier blending. Add different extracts for flavor variations. Beat longer for fluffier texture. Use gel food coloring to color the frosting without changing consistency.
