Preparation
- Marinate the beef by placing the sliced beef steak in a bowl with cornstarch, sesame oil, black pepper, and soy sauce. Stir well and let sit for 10-15 minutes.
Cooking
- Heat vegetable oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add beef in a single layer and cook for 2-3 minutes without stirring. Flip and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes. Remove and set aside.
- Add bell peppers to the pan and stir-fry for about 5 minutes. Add minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds.
- Return the beef to the pan, sprinkle with brown sugar, and add rice vinegar and more black pepper. Add a splash of water and stir for 1 minute.
Serving
- Remove from heat and serve hot.
Notes
To elevate your Black Pepper Beef, ensure the beef is thinly sliced for optimal tenderness. Serve over steamed rice or noodles to soak up the delicious sauce. For extra heat, increase the amount of freshly cracked black pepper or add some crushed red pepper flakes.
