Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt until well blended.
  2. In another bowl, combine egg, milk, and vanilla extract, mixing until smooth.
  3. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined; some lumps are okay.
Cooking Pancakes
  1. Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat and add melted butter.
  2. Use a ladle to pour batter onto the skillet, cooking until bubbles form on the surface.
  3. Carefully flip the pancakes and cook until golden brown on the other side.
Making Banana Foster Topping
  1. In a separate pan, melt unsalted butter over medium heat, adding sliced bananas, maple syrup, and cinnamon.
  2. Stir gently, cooking until bananas are softened and sauce is bubbly.
