Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to prepare for baking.
- Spray your donut or muffin pan with nonstick cooking spray and set aside.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, cloves, baking powder, and salt until well combined.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the pumpkin puree, milk, brown sugar, vegetable oil, egg, and vanilla extract until smooth and integrated.
- Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and gently stir with a spatula until just combined; be careful not to overmix.
- Spoon the batter into your prepared muffin tray, filling each cavity nearly to the top.
Baking
- Place the pan in the oven and bake for 10-12 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- While the donuts cool, mix together granulated sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl.
- Allow the donuts to cool for about 5 minutes, then brush them with melted butter and coat in the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
- Enjoy the donuts warm right out of the oven, or let them cool completely if desired.
Notes
To ensure your pumpkin donuts turn out perfectly every time, measure ingredients accurately. Use fresh spices and avoid overmixing. Feel free to add chocolate chips or nuts for extra flavor.
