Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Slice each potato into ‘fans’ by making evenly spaced cuts almost through the potato.
Cooking
- Arrange the sliced potatoes on a lined or greased baking sheet and gently pull the pieces apart to fan them out.
- Drizzle melted butter evenly over each potato.
- Sprinkle salt and pepper to taste.
- Top each potato with shredded cheese, pushing some into the crevices.
- Bake for 45-60 minutes or until tender, checking doneness with a knife.

- Serve warm and enjoy the best texture and flavor.
Notes
Can be prepared ahead of time. Leftover potatoes can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days. For reheating, do so in the oven at 350°F for 10-15 minutes.
