Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Slice each potato into ‘fans’ by making evenly spaced cuts almost through the potato.
Cooking
  1. Arrange the sliced potatoes on a lined or greased baking sheet and gently pull the pieces apart to fan them out.
  2. Drizzle melted butter evenly over each potato.
  3. Sprinkle salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Top each potato with shredded cheese, pushing some into the crevices.
  5. Bake for 45-60 minutes or until tender, checking doneness with a knife.

Notes
