Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  2. Spray a baking dish with cooking spray to prevent sticking.
  3. Peel and cut the sweet potatoes into 1/2 inch rounds.
Making the Glaze
  1. In a pan, melt the butter together with the brown sugar, granulated sugar, orange or pineapple juice, bourbon, salt, cinnamon, cloves, and nutmeg.
Combining Ingredients
  1. Pour the butter mixture over the sliced sweet potatoes in the baking dish, ensuring even coverage.
Baking
  1. Cover the dish with foil and bake for 1 hour.
  2. Remove from the oven, and optionally sprinkle the nuts and marshmallows on top.
  3. Return the dish to the oven uncovered for an additional 3 to 5 minutes, or until the marshmallows are golden brown.
Serving
  1. Optionally, garnish with fresh sage before serving.
