Preparation
- Roll out the pie crust. Place it in your pie plate and refrigerate until ready.
- Peel, core, and slice the apples into manageable pieces.
- In a pot, add one inch of water, then cook the apples for 3-5 minutes until they become opaque.
- In a bowl, mix the crumb ingredients until coarse crumbs form.
Cooking
- Drain the apples and let them cool briefly after cooking.
- Place the cooled apples into the pie crust and sprinkle them with sugar and cinnamon.
- Cover the apples evenly with the crumb mixture.
- Place in the preheated oven at 425°F for 10 minutes, then lower the temperature to 350°F and bake for an additional 30-40 minutes, removing the crust shield during the last 15 minutes.

- Allow the pie to cool before serving to ensure perfect slices.
Notes
