Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F.
- Prepare an 8 by 4 loaf pan by spraying it with cooking spray.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, all spice, and cloves. Set aside.
- In the bowl of a stand mixer, add the eggs and beat on medium speed for about 30 seconds.
- Add in the canola oil, applesauce, and vanilla, then mix until smooth.
- Add the granulated sugar and mix until well combined.
Cooking
- Slowly add in the flour mixture and mix until the flour is barely combined.
- Gently fold in the chopped apple chunks.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
- In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar, sugar, and cinnamon for the topping.
- Sprinkle the mixture over the batter in the loaf pan.
- Bake for 50-55 minutes, or until the loaf is golden and a toothpick comes out clean.
Serving
- Cool the bread in the pan for 10 minutes.
- Loosen the sides and remove the bread from the pan.
- Allow the bread to cool completely on a wire rack before slicing.
Notes
Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to four days. Freezes well for up to three months. Reheat at 350°F for about 10 minutes.
