Preparation
- Preheat the air fryer to the lowest temperature, about 250°F.
- Cut the bananas into thin, even rounds, approximately ⅛ to ¼ inch thick.
- Place the banana slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket, leaving space between each piece.
- Lightly brush each slice with lemon juice to help prevent browning.
Cooking
- Cook the banana slices at 250°F for 20 to 30 minutes until they are dried out and lightly golden.
- Check the chips starting around 20 minutes and remove any that are done, as smaller slices will finish first.
- Allow the banana chips to cool completely for about 10 minutes—they will crisp up as they sit.
Serving
- If desired, toss the cooled chips with cinnamon sugar or sprinkle with cinnamon for a lightly spiced version.
Notes
Store cooled banana chips in an airtight container for longer freshness. Experiment with flavors by adding a sprinkle of nutmeg or cayenne for a unique twist.
