  • 1 tablespoon oregano Imparts a fragrant, earthy note.
  • 1 tablespoon cumin Adds a warm, nutty flavor.
  • 1 tablespoon chili peppers Delivers heat and vibrant flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric Offers a subtle earthiness.
For the Marinade
  • 3 tablespoons oil Helps the seasoning adhere to meat.
  • 1-2 juices juice of limes Introduces freshness and balances flavors.
  • 1 pound chicken or meat The primary ingredient to marinate.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Combine the dry ingredients in a mixing bowl or jar. Stir or shake until well mixed.
  2. Store the mixture in a jar with a lid in a cool, dark place for up to 6 months.
  3. To prepare the marinade, combine 1 tablespoon of adobo seasoning with 3 tablespoons of oil and the juice of 1-2 limes.
  4. Pour the marinade over 1 pound of chicken or meat in a ziplock bag and marinate in the fridge for 2-4 hours.
  5. Rub the adobo seasoning liberally on the chicken or meat before cooking.

Notes

For best results, allow marinade to sit for 30 minutes before adding meat. Use fresh lime juice for optimal flavor.
